I have always been fascinated with people who came from rough beginnings, lifted themselves up, and now stand taller than the crowd. And the people who fell down from the top, but shortly after, got themselves back on their feet, and were able to stand even taller than before. I have always been anxious to know what is the secret of standing tall, and how tall we can stand in life. Amazingly, I found the answer to this mysterious phenomenon in a very strange way. I found it when I was in the engineering and construction business. And I found out that the secret to standing tall in life is the same as in building a tall and beautiful high rise. Yes… , the same. I came up with 3 Cardinal Rules for standing tall in life. In this article, I talk very briefly only about the first one.
Before the construction crew starts building the high rise, they have to have complete blueprints. The same thing is true in life. Before you stand tall in life or in business, you have to have a blueprint too. You must have goals and direction. You should know exactly where you are heading in life.
Studies show that only 3% of the population has written goals and they are the most successful people on the planet. The other 97% have to work very hard so that this small 3% can reach their goals. Do you want to be part of these 97% working bees…, or do you want to be part of this top 3%? If you want to be successful like them, then you definitely have to do what they do. You must have a blueprint for your life. You must have clear goals and direction in life. You should know exactly where you are heading in life.
I used the same 3 Cardinal Rules in my construction business. I starated with zero income, and in five years I became very successful. I then set another ambitious goal for myself: to overcome my incurable stuttering, and to become a professional speaker. People laughed at me, not on the outside, but I could hear them on the inside. You and public speaking!!! hahaha… Two years later, I was the keynote speaker at a large convention. These 3 Cardinal Rules work. In my presentation I will share them with you in detail.
